An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on April 18, 2024. The inspectors arrived at 10am, and departed at approximately 11:35am. Present in the home were 6 children, totaling 19 points. Children and staff interactions were observed throughout the entire inspection. Children were observed breakfast, handwashing, diapering, free play and snack. Emergency preparedness documents were observed. All children records were reviewed as well as the providers. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the family day home and were reviewed with the provider at the exit interview.
Violations
2Evidence:
1. In the playground area, there is a broken clothesline with several long strings hanging in reach of children. This poses as a strangulation hazard to the children in care.
2. In the indoor play area, the children?s cots are stacked with no secure fasten to hold them in place. This poses as both a tipping and injury to the children in care.
Evidence:
1. Inspectors arrived at 9am and there was an additional child that came into the center totally 6 children and 19 points. There was one caregiver for approximately 6 minutes as the additional caregiver was out at an appointment.
2. The provider confirmed that for approximately 6 minutes, the home was over three points.
