Inspector Notes

An announced initial monitoring inspection was conducted 4/15/24 from approximately 9:35am-10:35am. There were no children present or enrolled. The home, 3 caregiver records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site. There are two rooms identified by use of children. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard 8VAC20-800-430-A
Based on observation and interview, children under two years of age and children over two years of age who are not developmentally ready to climb or descend stairs without supervision will have access to stairs.
Evidence: The barrier to stairs to upper level was not installed.
Plan of Correction: Barrier to be installed by 4/19/24.
Standard 8VAC20-800-880
Based on observation and interview the family day home menu did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority.
Evidence: The home's menu did not include a second vegetable or a fruit at lunch.
Plan of Correction: Provider will add an additional vegetable or fruit to lunch menu.
