Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted on October 28, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 1:30 p.m. and ended at 4:15 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 132 children present and 20 staff. The inspector reviewed 10 children?s records and 10 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-160-B
Acceptable forms of documentation of tuberculosis screening are signed by a physician, the physician's designee or an official of the local health department. Two tuberculosis screenings were not signed as required.
Plan of Correction: The tuberculosis tests/screenings will be signed as required.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-E
Long-term prescription drug use and over-the counter medication may be allowed with written authorization from the child's physician and parent. The parent did not renew the written authorization for one medication for Child A every ten working days and physician authorization was not obtained.
Plan of Correction: The medication will be returned to parent until the authorization can be secured.
