Plan of Correction: Immediately following the complaint, the administration conducted a review of the incident and counseled the staff member involved regarding appropriate behavior guidance practices. This employee had been employed with our school for five years with no prior reports of misconduct regarding behavioral management of students. For reasons unrelated to this incident, the staff member is no longer employed at our school.
All staff members received retraining on constructive and developmentally appropriate behavior guidance techniques. This training emphasized redirection strategies, positive discipline, and conflict resolution methods that support children's social and emotional development.
In addition, staff were retrained on mandatory reporting requirements and the procedures for immediately reporting concerns regarding child safety or staff conduct to administration.
Moving forward, administration will continue to monitor classrooms to ensure that behavior guidance practices remain appropriate and consistent with our policies. Ongoing training and supervision will be provided to reinforce positive guidance techniques and ensure compliance.
