Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on August 6, 2024 and completed on August 6, 2024, as a part of the conditional licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:30am and ended at 12:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 57 children present and 11 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records [on-site]. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
IF VIOLATIONS ARE CITED, ADD THIS: Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on August 13. 2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

The licensee shall obtain the results of a fingerprint background check prior to the hire of staff members. Staff 2's background check results were obtained one day after hire. Staff 3 and Staff 5's background check results were obtained six days after hire. Staff 4's background check results were obtained five days after hire.
Plan of Correction: New hires will begin on or before background checks results return.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
The diapering surface shall be used only for diapering or cleaning children. The top of the diapering surface in the toddler room was observed with items not essential to diapering.
Plan of Correction: Speak with teaches to keep clear and clean of items.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-D
The center shall implement a monthly practice evacuation drill. No evacuation drill were conducted in June or July 2024.
Plan of Correction: PLan fire drills each month.
Standard 8VAC20-780-70
Staff records shall contain all required information. Staff 1's record did not contain the results of two reference checks.
