Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on May 10, 2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-B
Within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Staff #1, #4, and #5, did not complete the Virginia Preservice Training within 90 days of employment. Staff #1 had been employed for seven months, staff #4 had been employed for six months, and staff #5 had been employed for eight months.
Plan of Correction: The director will ensure staff complete their 90 day preservice. If they fail to they will not be able to return to work until it is complete.

All staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval current CPR. Staff #4, employed for six months, did not have CPR certification. Staff #5, employed for eight months, did not have CPR certification.
Plan of Correction: The director will ensure new hires receive cpr within the first 90 days.
