Inspector Notes

An announced initial inspection was conducted on June 21, 2024, from approximately 9:30am-10:25am. At the time of the inspection, 1 child was in care with 1 provider present. Inspected today were the physical plant, 1 child record,1 staff record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies, medications, and medication authorization records. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were observed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-320-A
Based on observation the provider failed to ensure that small electrical appliances were unplugged while not in use.

Evidence: there were several appliances sitting on the kitchen counter plugged in, and the appliances were not in use.
Plan of Correction: I will ensure appliances are unplugged when not in use.
Standard 8VAC20-800-330-A
Based on observation and interview with provider there was no landline telephone operable in the home.

Evidence: The provider stated there was a landline available, but the phone was broken.
Plan of Correction: I will buy a new phone this weekend to replace the broken one.
Standard 8VAC20-800-760-A-1
Based on observation the First Aid kit did not contain more than one triangular bandage.

Evidence: The provider could not find the triangular bandages for the First Aid kit.
Plan of Correction: I will buy the bandages needed for the kit.
