Inspector Notes

An announced, on-site initial inspection was initiated and completed on September 9, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 1:00pm and ended at 2:35pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There was one child present and two caregivers; the point total was two. The inspector reviewed one sample children?s records and two staff records on-site. This inspection included a tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 9/20/24. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Based on observation the provider did not ensure that portable electric fans shall be securely mounted out of the reach of children.
Evidence:
1.There was a fan standing in the dining room of the family day home. Children would have access to the fan and area.

Standard 8VAC20-800-520-C
Based on observation and interview the provider did not ensure that cribs shall meet the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission standards (CPSC) at the time they were manufactured.
Evidence:
1.One of three cribs inspected was manufactured in May 2011, which does not meet the U.S CPSC?s current crib standards.
2.The provider confirmed that the crib was manufactured in May 2011.
