An announced, on-site new inspection was initiated and completed on 9/4/2024. The on-site inspection began at 12:15 pm and ended at 3:00 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included (include all that apply from the list below.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Based on observation the center failed to ensure that areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
The exterior wall of the outdoor play area has metal with sharp edges and siding with pinch points.
The interior wall of the outdoor play area has sharp edged screws protruding that are accessible to children in care. The pipes in the concrete flooring has insulation coming out that is accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: The maintenance department was contacted during the inspection and a request was made to have these items fixed ASAP.

Based on observation the center failed to ensure all the required items are in the first aid kit.
Evidence:
The first aid kit did not have triangular bandages.
Plan of Correction: Triangular bandages will be placed in the first aid kit.
