Inspector Notes
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was attempted on 01/30/2025, intended as a part of the conditional licensure period. Once on site, the facility was found closed with no one in the child care center. The owner was called and it was stated that due to low enrollment the center had yet to open.
Discussion of the need to have enrolled children in care in order to determine compliance for all applicable standards of the Child Day Center (CDC). Such standards would need to be assessed in order to justify a continuance of the CDC license at the time of renewal. It is the intent of the conditional period for a 6-month license to establish a history of compliance in all applicable standards. If there are no children enrolled many of those standards will remain undetermined.
The owner stated their understanding and that they would contact the Licensing Inspector at such time when the center is open or a decision is made to resign the license. If the license is resigned, if a future license is wished to be obtained, then the sponsor's would need to start at square one and submit a new completed initial child day center application.
