During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above, to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.
Inspector Notes
An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on July 9, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:30am and ended at 1pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 20 children present and 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 6 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. In the infant and 4 year old classrooms, each classroom had disinfectant wipes with a warning label, ?Keep out of reach of children? that were not locked. In the bathroom, a disinfectant cleaner was on the floor next to the commode.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The center will ensure that all cleaning products are locked moving forward.

A shady area shall be provided on playgrounds during the months of June, July, and August. There was no observed shady area on the playground for the children.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The center has a professional company coming in to install year round shady area for the outdoor playground. The equipment and supplies were at the center to be installed July 10, 2025.

When food is brought from home, the food container shall be clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. The milk bottles in the infant and toddler rooms did not have dates and labels to identify the owner.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: During the time of the inspection, bottles were dated and labeled with the children?s name. The center will ensure that all bottles are labeled daily moving forward.
