Inspector Notes

An announced, on-site initial inspection was initiated on March 17, 2025 and completed on March 18, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:20am on March 17, 2025 and ended at 1:41pm on March 18,2025. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were no children present and 2 staff. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 4/2/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a safe condition. The indoor play area material shelves small animal shaped manipulatives that were small enough to be a potential choking hazard.
Plan of Correction: The items identified during the inspection as a potential choking hazard have been removed.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. The children?s restrooms had air freshener devices with the label ?keep out of reach of children? unlocked on top of the toilet tank.
Plan of Correction: Hazardous substances identified during the inspection has since been removed
from all bathrooms and unlocked areas.
Standard 8VAC20-780-320-B
Each restroom area provided for children shall have running warm water that does not exceed 120?F. The water in the two children?s bathroom sinks and kitchen sink measured a temperature of 127? F.
Plan of Correction: All water coming from the hot water heater has been adjusted to the required temp followed by individual adjustments from each location.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Disposable diapers shall be disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot-operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. The designated disposal system next to the diaper changing table did not have method open it without using hands.
Plan of Correction: The disposal system identified during the inspection has since been replaced with one that is foot operated.
