During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted on 7/29/2025 from 9:20am - 10:35am. There were 3 children and 1 caregiver present during the time of the inspection; totaling 6 points. The inspector reviewed 3 child records and 3 caregiver/household records onsite. The inspection included document review, interviews, observations, and a walk thru of the program.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which is 8/6/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-800-200-B
Orientation for Caregivers shall cover the following topics: requirements for reporting suspected child abuse and neglect.

Caregiver #1 and #2 did not have documentation of completing child abuse and neglect training. The orientation checklist for Caregiver #2 indicated the training was complete; however, the provider confirmed the training had not been done.
Plan of Correction: The Licensing Inspector emailed the training information to the provider on 7/31/2025. The provider will send documentation of completion once the training has been fnished for Caregiver #1 and #2.
Standard 8VAC20-800-880
When family day homes provide meals or snacks, they shall follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the USDA.

The posted menu did not contain all required components based on USDA guidelines. Multiple meals did not include a vegetable, fruit, meat or meat subsitute, or a bread/grain.
Plan of Correction: I already corrected the menu.

When meals or snacks are provided by the family day home, the menu for the current one-week period shall: be dated and list any substituted food.

The menu was not dated and did not list substitutions. The provider stated the menu is not always followed and children are often fed based on their likes and dislikes.
