During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 08/21/2025. The on-site inspection began at 8:20 a.m. and ended at 10:00 a.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 26 children present and 7 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records, 2 staff records on-site, 3 staff records at the administrative office on 08/25/2025 and 2 agent/applicant records electronically on 08/25/2025. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations, and measurements.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

A spray bottle labeled ?bleach/water? was located in an unlocked storage contain on the wall in the Infant Safari room. In the 2-year-old room, a can of disinfectant spray, disinfectant wipes and glass cleaner were unlocked on top of a shelf in the bathroom.
Plan of Correction: Hazardous substances were locked during inspection.

At least one staff in each classroom or area where children are present shall have current certification in both CPR and first aid.

On 08/21/2025 from approximately 8:00 a.m-8:30 a.m. Staff 5, who was not certified in CPR or first aid, was the only staff in the classroom/area with children.
Plan of Correction: A staff member with current CPR/first aid will work in room until staff is certified.
