Inspector Notes

An announced initial inspection was conducted on 02/05/2025 from 9:52 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the provider. The provider plans to operate Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The provider will care for up to five children from one month to 12-years-old. Most, but not all, standards were reviewed as standards related to supervision and programming could not be observed because there were no children in care during the inspection. One staff record and six household member records were reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. Medications will not be administered, and the provider understands they must obtain Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification to do so. The home is equipped with a variety of age-appropriate materials. Meals will be provided by the families. Policies and procedures were reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, fire extinguisher, and smoke detectors were observed. Emergency numbers, evacuation maps/procedures. A conditional (6 month) license will be recommended. An unannounced follow up inspection will be conducted within 60 days to determine compliance with standards not observed at the initial inspection. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Beth Velke at beth.velke@doe.virginia.gov or call 804-629-8302. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 2/21/25. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.
