Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on July 9, 2025, as a part of the conditional licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:45amand ended at 11:00am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were six children present and two caregivers; the point total was 11. The inspector reviewed six children?s records and four caregiver/household member(s) records on-site.
This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-40-A
The provider shall ensure that the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home.

The licensed capacity of the family day home is five. At the time of the inspection, the provider had six children in care with two caregivers present.
Plan of Correction: The provider will ensure that the total number of children in care does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of five at the home. The oldest child that was present at the time of the inspection was a family member and usually is not present at the family day home. The provider has applied for a special use permit with the county to provide for more children in the future.
