Inspector Notes

An unannounced initial inspection was completed on 06/13/2025.The on-site inspection began at 10:00am and ended at 11:30am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements.Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, shall be
maintained in a safe condition. The bottom of the wooden door frame, leading to the outside play area, was rotted and splintered. Wires were hanging from the home next to the back door leading into the home from the outside play area.
Plan of Correction: The provider will remove the wires and repair the bottom of the door frame.
Standard 8VAC20-800-430-D
Protective barriers or guardrails on sides of stairs shall be constructed to prevent a child from climbing over, crawling or falling through, or becoming entrapped. The stairs at the main entrance and the stairs inside the home leading to the bottom floor daycare area had spaces that were more than 4inches of space, posing a possible entrapment or fall hazard.
Plan of Correction: The provider will add a barrier to any space in both sets of staircases that is more than 4 inches wide.
