During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site initial inspection was initiated and completed on 8/20/2025, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:00am and ended at 12:45pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 4 children present and 1 caregiver; the point total was 11. The inspector reviewed 1 children?s records and 1 caregiver and 3 household members records on-site. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program

Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Cleaning agents shall be stored areas inaccessible to children.
A cleaning agent was found in an unlocked bathroom cabinet accessible to children in care.
Plan of Correction: Provider removed the cleaning agent and secured it.
Standard 8VAC20-800-530-B
Cribs when being used by infants shall have a tight-fitting bottom cover.
1 crib was observed on site with a loosely fitted crib sheet.
Plan of Correction: Provider will purchase larger mattresses that will fit the existing sheets.

The diapering surface shall be separate from surfaces used for children's activities.
The diaper surface was observed on the floor with a child's toy laying on the surface.
Plan of Correction: Provider will have the diaper surface in an area inaccessible to children.

Before the child's first day of attendance, parents shall be provided in writing the address of the website of the department, liability insurance, amount of time per week that an adult assistant or substitute provider instead of the provider is scheduled to care for the child and the name of the adult assistant or substitute provider.

Medications shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Medications were unlocked and accessible to four children present (ages 11months to 2 years) in two areas of the home.
Plan of Correction: Secured during inspection.

A first aid kit must contain tweezers and triangular bandages.
The providers first aid kit did not contain tweezers and one additional triangular bandage.
Plan of Correction: Provider will order the items.

Children shall not be allowed to eat or drink while walking, running, playing, lying down, or riding in vehicles.
Child 4 (11 months ) was observed laying on a couch while drinking from an infant bottle.
Plan of Correction: Provided assisted child to sit up. No children will be permitted to eat or drink while laying down.

When meals or snacks are provided by the family day home, the menu for the current one-week period shall be posted.
A menu was not posted during the inspection.
