Inspector Notes

An unannounced initial inspection was completed on 08/25/2025. The on-site inspection began at 9:45am and ended at 12:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Areas and equipment of the center shall be maintained in a safe condition.
Some of the window frames and wall in the classrooms had areas of peeling paint.
Plan of Correction: The areas of peeling paint will be repaired and repainted.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. In the lounge which was unlocked and on a low shelf there were 2 bottles of baby oil with labels that read "keep out or reach of children."
Plan of Correction: The baby oil was removed during the inspection and the door to the lounge will be locked from now on.
Standard 8VAC20-780-570-I
A one-day's emergency supply of disposable bottles, nipples, and commercial
formulas appropriate for the children in care shall be maintained at the center. The center did not have water to make the powdered infant formula or enough bottles and nipples appropriate for the infants they have requested to care for. There were 2 bottles/nipples and 12 children requested.
Plan of Correction: Formula, water, bottles and nipples appropriate for a one day supply for 12 infants will be purchased and kept in the infant room to have in the event of an emergency.
