Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on June 27, 2023. The licensing inspector was onsite, completing the inspection from approximately 9:50am until 12:15pm. There were 87 children present, ranging in ages from two years to 12 years, with 18 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and medication. A total of nine children's records and nine staff members? records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-160-A
Based on observations, the center did not maintain all areas and equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence:
The picnic table located on the school age playground contained wooden boards that were broken, exposing a bolt, creating a snagging and pinching hazard for the children.
Plan of Correction: Going forward, we will ensure all staff has the required paperwork prior to the first date of employment.
