Inspector Notes

An unannounced annual RECDC inspection was conducted o1/24/23. The center has 44 children present with 8 classroom staff as well as a director. The children were observed having circle time, dancing and playing outside on the playground. Lunch was observed, the children had grapes, veggies and dip and quesadillas, milk was offered as the drink. Lots of interaction between children and teachers observed in all groupings. Based on the review of 3 staff records the center failed to get some background checks.
Evidence: Based on the review of three staff records, one staff , staff 2, indicated on the sworn disclosure that she lived out of state in the last 5 years. The center failed to get a background check (CPS) from the state.
Plan of Correction: We will request the checks.
Standard 8VAC20-770-40-D-2
Based on the review of three staff records the center failed to get some of the required paperwork.
Evidence: Based on the review of three out of eight staff records, two staff, staff 2 and 3 are missing their CPS checks. Copies of cps checks are in the files but no dates to indicate when the paperwork was sent. No results are in the files.
Plan of Correction: We will contact OBI and figure out if we need to resend the requests again.
