22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education
Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:00am-12:00pm. At the time of entrance, 72 children were in care with 18 staff members present. Infants were observed playing with toys on the floor with their caregivers, sitting in bouncy seats and sleeping. Children were observed playing with table toys, reading books, watching a puppet show, making a gingerbread house, painting and other art activities, singing songs in circle time, cutting paper with scissors and writing skill activities. The site was clean and organized. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, medications and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed.

3Evidence:
1. The center's menu listed gold fish and water on December 7th, mandarin oranges and water on December 16th and goldfish and water on December 20th.
Evidence:
1. In the Two Year old class, a home living sink had a missing part on the top right side of the sink which created a hole in the equipment.
2. The orange structure on the playground had a loose steering wheel.
Evidence:
1. In the Toddler classroom, the changing pad had a thin crack approximately 1 1/2 inches long on the side and another small crack on the corner of the pad.
