Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on January 31, 2023. There were 57 children present, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.

Based on review of children's records, staff did not request at least annually parent confirmation that the required information in the child's record is up to date.
Evidence
Staff did not request at least annually parent confirmation that the required information in the child's record is up to date for the following children:
Child #1, first day of attendance 9/19/2019, last parent review 9/17/2021

Plan of Correction: We will make sure all children's information is reviewed by parents at least annually. We will send an email out to all parents today to have them stop at the front office to review their information.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on observation and interview with staff, the diapering surface is not being cleaned and sanitized according to Virginia Licensing Standards.
Evidence
The diapering surface must be cleaned and sanitized being dipped or sprayed with a solution of soap and water, pat dry with single use paper towel, to clean, then spray or dip with a solution of bleach and water and allow to air dry to sanitize.
Plan of Correction: All staff will be retrained today on the proper diapering procedures. We will ensure all staff understands and executes the procedure.

Based on review of the posted menu, meals that were provided did not match what was served.
Evidence
Food that was served on Monday, 1/30/2023 was listed as the meal for lunch on Tuesday 1/31/2023. The food that was served on Tuesday, 1/31/2023, was listed as the meal for Monday 1/30/2023.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure to update the menu whenever changes occur.
