Inspector Notes

An unannounced focus inspection was conducted on 12/13/2023 from 11:50 am to 12:45 pm There were 34 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 8 direct care staff. The physical plant, 5 children?s medication records, medications, menu, allergy list, and policies were inspected. Children were observed napping and lining up. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Based on review of medications, the center did not ensure that when an authorization for a medication expires that the parent is notified to pick up the medication within 14 days or that any medications not picked up within 14 days after medication authorization expiration are disposed of by the center.

Evidence:
1. Child #3 had emergency medication on site at the time of the inspection and the authorization expired on 7/28/2023.

2. The emergency medication was not return to the parent or disposed of within 14 days.
