Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/12/22 from 11:30am until 1:20pm. At the time of the inspection, there were 77 children in care with 11 staff present. A sample of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed engaging in afternoon learning activities, eating lunch and resting quietly during nap time. Handwashing and restroom procedures were also observed. First aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency practice drills, transportation, written emergency preparedness plan and required center postings were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that each staff member shall submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening and that the documentation shall have been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment.

Evidence:
1. The record for staff 1 (date of hire: 1/3/22) has a TB screening dated 5/1/21, which is more than 30 days prior to employment.
2. Administrative staff confirmed that the TB screening for staff 1 was not completed within the required timeframe.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Going forward, the center will ensure that TB screening are completed within the required timeframes.
