Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/20/2022. There were 51 children present, ranging in ages from 2 yrs to 5 yrs, with 4 staff supervising nap time. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based upon observation, the facility has not ensured that hazardous substances are kept in locked placed using safe locking methods that prevent access by children.
Evidence:
The tall cabinet in the PreK1 classroom was unlocked. Inside the cabinet there were cleaning/sanitizing solutions. There was Lysol spray and Neutron with warning labels.
Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
The cabinet was immediately locked when this was brought to the attention of the staff person on duty at naptime. All staff will be reminded of responsibilities regarding keeping all chemicals in locked locations.
