A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on 10/19/2023. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined violations with applicable standards or law. Violations are identified on the violation notice.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-B
Based on record review and interview, the licensee did not ensure that each staff person who works directly with children completes the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within their first 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
The record for staff #1, whose date of employment is documented as 5/4/2023, does not contain documentation of having completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.
The program director confirmed that she has not received documentation of completion of the training for staff #1.
Plan of Correction: The program director will request that staff #1 complete this training in no more than 30 days and submit the training certificate for her staff record immediately upon completion.

Based on record review and interview, the licensee did not ensure that each staff person who works directly with children completes certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
The record for staff #1, whose date of employment is documented as 5/4/2023, does not contain documentation of having completed certification cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the ages of children in care.The program director confirmed that she has not received documentation of completion of the CPR Certification for staff #1.

The program director confirmed that she has not received documentation of completion of the First Aid certification for staff #1.
