Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on April 26, 2021 and concluded on April 28, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 54 children and 12 present. The Inspector emailed the Director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children's rerecords and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child care programs.

Based on record review and staff interviews the license did not ensure the child day center did not obtain a copy of the results of a sex offender registry check from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.

Evidence: The record for staff #2 did not include a sex offender check for the state Maryland where staff #2 resided within the last years.
Plan of Correction: Director will ensure all required out of state background checks are submitted.
