Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today.
3 staff and 1 child records were reviewed. See Violation Notice for non-compliances cited.
Children were observed during diapering, washing hands, eating snack, resting, and playing on the playground.
The menu, first aid supplies, emergency supplies, medications, emergency evacuation drills, cot spacing and top and bottom covers were all in compliance.

Standard 8VAC20-780-530-A-1
Based on a review of records, staff did not have documentation of certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from an acceptable provider that included an in-person competency demonstration.
Evidence:
3 of 3 records reviewed contained documentation from the National CPR foundation, an online only CPR course. (Staff A,B,C)
Plan of Correction: All staff have taken CPR again through an appropriate provider.

Based on a review of records, staff did not have documentation of certification in first aid certification from an organization such as American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or National Safety Council.
