Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on April 23, 2024, from 12:45pm to approximately 3:15pm. There were 48 children present and 13 staff members. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records. The Inspector observed the interaction of staff and children throughout the inspection. Children were observed nap, handwashing, diapering, and parent pick up. First aid kits and emergency preparedness documents were observed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The violations were discussed with the director at the exit interview.
Violations
3Evidence:
1. In each of the classrooms, there were electric cords (phone charger cords and radio cords) that were hanging from the shelf that are in reach of children. This poses as an injury hazard to the children in care.
2. Staff members confirmed that the cords were hanging and in reach of children.
Evidence:
1. In both the 3 and 4 year old classroom and the toddler classroom, the cots were not 12 inches apart from each other. Occupied cots were observed side by side touching each other.
2. Staff and Director confirmed that the cots were not 12 inches apart from each other.
Evidence:
1. There was a bottle of children?s acetaminophen on the counter of the 2 year old classroom that was unlocked and accessible to children.
2. Assistant director confirmed that the medication was unlocked and accessible to children.
