8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS.

Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/22/2022 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. This inspection began at 9:50am and ended at 11:00am. There were 13 staff with 82 children in 7 classrooms at the time of the visit. At the start of the inspection, children were observed playing outside, playing with play dough, listening to audio books, celebrating birthdays and other organized activities. Children's files, emergency preparedness procedures, fire drill log were reviewed. The physical plant and playground were inspected. There were 6 medications reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and can be found on the violation notice. Thank you for your cooperation today. Based on record review and interview, all staff do not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within the first 90 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #3 (date of hire: 11/15/2021) does not have a current CPR certification. The program director confirmed that this staff person has not yet completed their certification.
Plan of Correction: They have a training this weekend.
