Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 09/13/2022. There were a total of 13 children with 2 staff members present. Children were observed during nap time and washing hands. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, cleaning materials were not kept in a locked lace using a safe locking method.
Evidence:
A container of Clorox wipes were in an unlocked upper bathroom cabinet.
Plan of Correction: A lock for the cabinet was ordered during the inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-780-450-A
Based on observation, mats used by children during the designated rest period did not have linens consisting of a bottom cover.
Evidence:
The mats in the classroom did not have a bottom cover.
Plan of Correction: We will provide sheets or nap buddies or we will have the parents provide an additional blanket.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-G
Based on observation and staff interview, documentation was not maintained of emergency evacuation drills.
Evidence:
The staff member verified that the drills were done but not documented.
Plan of Correction: A one page drill log was printed during the inspection. We will document all of the drills.
