Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on January 22, 2024 from approximately 12:30pm until 2:30pm. There were 39 children present with seven staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on review of five staff records, the vendor did not ensure all staff who work directly with children obtained current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 90 days of the date of employment.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #5 (Date of Employment) did not contain current certification in CPR.
2. A member of management confirmed the center is in the process of scheduling a CPR training.
Plan of Correction: We are scheduling a CPR and first aid training for the newer staff members to obtain their certifications.
