8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS.

Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on 3/2/2022 and concluded on 3/3/2022. There were 56 children present with 14 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure 2 staff had current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care within 90 days of the date of employment.

Evidence:
1. The record of staff #1 (DOH: 9/30/2021) and staff #2 (DOH:10/26/2021) did not contain current CPR certification.
2. Administration acknowledged that the certification had not been obtained.
Plan of Correction: Director will make sure to have staff scheduled for training during first 90 days.
