Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring was conducted on April 26, 2023. There were 52 children present upon arrival with 8 staff members. Additional administrative staff were present. Children were observed restroom breaks, transitioning from nap time to snack time. Three staff records and
three children records reviewed . Licensing Inspector reviewed indoor areas, supervision, activities, equipment, emergency evacuation and sheltering-in-place drill documentation, emergency procedures and required posting. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-160-A
Based on staff interview and record review, the licensee did not ensure staff negative tuberculosis screening should been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment.

Evidence:
Staff #1 hire date 04/24/2023 and negative tuberculosis screening was completed 04/27/2023.
Staff #2 hire date 04/10/2023 and negative tuberculosis screening was completed 01/27/2023.
Plan of Correction: Staff #2 went and recieved TB test on 05/02/2023
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation , the licensee did not ensure hazordous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
In the 1's classroom area where their is a diapering area , their was odor spray on shelf, bleach and water and soap and water on top of black storage container . In the bathroom in the 1's classroom area in the bathroom their was a first aid kit sitting on top of the toilet. Their was aspirin and hazordous items in the first aid kit.
Plan of Correction: The odor spray was removed . Bleach and water/Soap and waterwas p;ace in locked container . Aspirin/other items were removed from First Aid Kit.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-M
Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure their was a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions. The list shall be dated and kept confidential.

Evidence:
Confirmed by staff and observation the allergy list were not dated. One classroom upstairs, was unable to locate the allergy list.
Plan of Correction: Universal Allergy list has been updated and posted in every room.
