During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 08/25/2025 and completed on 08/26/2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:00 AM and ended at 12:15 PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 32 children present and 8 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records, 4 staff and 3 board officers and agents on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility and interviews.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-330-B
Playground equipment with moving parts or climbing apparatus must have appropriate fall zones that encompass sufficient area to include the child's trajectory in the event of a fall. The fall zones on the small and large playgrounds are measured to be three feet when each piece of equipment requires at least six feet of a fall zone.

Two pieces of climbing equipment did not have the required fall zone that included resilient surfacing.
Plan of Correction: The administration will obtain additional resilient surfacing and make sure all climbing equipment has the required amount.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-E
The operational responsibilities of the licensee shall include ensuring that the center's activities, services, and facilities are maintained in compliance with these
standards, the center's own policies and procedures that are required by these standards, and the terms of the current license issued by the department.

The center?s license stated a capacity of 30 and there were 32 children in care.
Plan of Correction: The program has requested to use another room for Pre-K on the license application. The increase will be noted on new license.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-I
The center shall develop written procedures for injury prevention.

The injury prevention plan did not contain all components. It contained the playground safety portion.
Plan of Correction: The administration will complete the injury prevention plan and will make sure that all staff are updated with the changes.
