Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on February 6, 2024, from 12:40pm-1:55pm. At the time of entrance, 106 children were in care with 14 staff members present. A sample of 4 of 7 classrooms (57 children, 8 staff) were observed. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 6 staff records. Children were observed napping. Based on record review, the center did not provide to the licensing representative an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.

Evidence:
The fire inspection on site expired 09/2023.
Plan of Correction: I will request a copy from the main office.
Standard 8VAC20-780-540-E
Based on interview, the center did not have all required nonmedical emergency supplies.

Evidence:
Staff A stated that they did not have a battery operated flashlight on site.
Plan of Correction: I will get a flashlight and batteries from the main office.

Based on observation, the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.

Evidence:
The evacuation drills were not practiced in September 2023.
Plan of Correction: Evacuation drills will be practiced monthly.
