Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on 05/19/2022. . There were 52 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. An in-person tour of the facility was also conducted. Children were observed during lunch and nap. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas of the center were maintained in a safe condition:
Evidence:
The window sills throughout the building had peeling paint.
Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the director during the exit interview:
A work order was placed to have the peeling paint corrected and walls and sills repainted.
Standard 22VAC40-185-440-E
Based on observation the center did not ensure there was a t least 12 inches of space between occupied cribs.
Evidence:
A baby was observed sleeping in a crib that did not have at least 12 inches of space on the non-service side. A crib that used as storage was next to the crib with the sleeping infant.
Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the director during the exit interview:
The director will talk with infant staff about ensuring each occupied crib has the required spacing between them.
