A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) inspection was conducted on 02/02/2023 from approximately 10:46 a.m. ? 4:50 p.m. There were 60 children present ranging from infants to five years old and eleven staff supervising. Seven child records and five staff records were reviewed. A renewal inspection was also conducted. Both inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined a violation with applicable standards or laws. 1) The start date for S1 was documented on the ?Orientation Form? as being on 1/30/23. The start date for S3 was documented on the ?Staff File Sheet? as being on 6/30/23.
2) The staff files of S1 and S3 did not include documentation that they have certification in first aid and CPR.
3) S6 acknowledged that there was no documentation that the center ensured that S1 and S3 received certification in first aid and CPR.
Evidence
1) The staff file for S5 documented that the most recent Department Health and Safety update course was completed by S5 on 6/10/21.
2) The staff training in the file of S5 for 2023 was a 7 hour course completed on 2/20/23.
3) S6 acknowledged that the Department Health and Safety update course is overdue and that there is no way to verify if S5 completed 16 hours of training as required in 2023.
