Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/8/2023 and concluded on 2/8/2023. There were 32 children directly supervised by 6 staff members. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities to include building with cups, sensory, math, watercolors and bathroom and handwashing. The physical plant, 3 child records, 4 staff records, medications, evacuation drills, and emergency supplies were inspected. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on a review of staff records, the licensed child day program does not have a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #1, date of hire 8/1/2022 does not have documentation of a central registry results within 30 days of employment.
Plan of Correction: Management will complete the staff's central registry and submit for processing. The findings will be emailed to the inspector when received.
Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
Based on a review of staff records, The Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course has not been completed within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #1, date of hire 8/1/2022 does not have documentation of the 10 hour Virginia Department of Education training.
Plan of Correction: Staff will complete the 10 hour training and keep the certificate in the staff's record.

Based on a review of medications, the center is not following the standards for keeping medications current.
Evidence: Child #1 long term medication expired 12/2022.
Plan of Correction: The expired medication will be returned to the parent.

Based on observation, the most recent issued license is not posted at each public entrance of the facility.
Evidence: The most current license dated September 20, 2022 through September 19, 2024 was not posted.
