Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 07/29/2025, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 11:00am and ended at 12:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 105 children present and 15 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records.Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
All staff are required to complete the 10 hour orientation course sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) within 90 calendars days of employment. Staff #1 (doh 10/21/2024) and Staff #2 (doh 09/01/2024 did not complete the 10 hour orientation training sponsored by the VDOE.
Plan of Correction: The entire staff are working on the 10 hour training. The center closes in August and all staff should have it be the time they reopen for the new school year.
Standard 8VAC20-780-430-C
When personal articles are used, they shall be individually assigned. One of the classrooms did not have individually assigned areas for the children's back packs and/or personal belongings.
Plan of Correction: The center closes for the summer in 4 days and the teacher had taken down tags that identified the spaces for individual items.
