Inspector Notes

An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated on 06/23/2025 and completed on 07/01/2025 in response to a complaint received by the licensing office on 06/23/2025 relating to allegations of insufficient cooling devices inside the facility. This inspection included:

*Tour of the facility
*Interviews
*Observations
*Measurements

The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 08/01/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-780-270-D
Fans or other cooling systems shall be used when the temperature of inside areas occupied by children exceeds 80?F.
The temperature in two classrooms measured between 81 and 83 degrees at 2:05 pm on 06/23/2025. No fans or cooling systems were in use in these two classrooms.
Plan of Correction: On 06/23/2025, we provided portable cooling units and fans in those classrooms that were affected until the issue was fixed. An emergency work order was immediately put in place that morning and we notified parents of the rising temperatures in the rooms throughout the day. The temperature was constantly monitored and parents were notified of an early pick up as necessary. Portable AC units were in place by the end of the day. Fans were in use in the School Age classroom. Fans are available for use if any issues occur in the future.
