Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on 02/15/2022. There were 34 children present with 6 staff supervising.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies. A total of 3 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review, staff did not complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence:
1) The record for Staff #3 (start date 10/14/2021) did not contain documentation that certifies that the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course had been completed. The center director stated that Staff #3 has not completed the course.
Plan of Correction: Staff #3 will complete the training.

Evidence:
1) The center director stated that the 2 staff persons assigned to room Green have not completed certification in CPR.
Plan of Correction: Staff in room Green will be certified in CPR in March. All staff will be certified during back-to-school training next school year.
