Inspector Notes
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection in response to a complaint received by the department on April 26, 2021. The complaint was regarding ratios, the supervision of children, and behavioral guidance. On April 27, 2021, the inspector was on-site conducting interviews, completing observations, and reviewing documentation. The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports part the allegation, therefore the complaint is determined to be valid. See the violation notice for more details.

Based on a review of documentation and observation, the center did not ensure that for two-year-old children, the staff-to-child ratio of one staff member for every eight children was maintained.
Evidence: 1) During the inspection on 04/27/21, the inspector observed 19 children in the care of two staff members. 2) A review of the daily attendance sheet in the classroom confirmed there were 19 children present, with the youngest child being 2 years old.
For two-year-old children, the staff-to-child ratio is one staff member for every eight children.

Plan of Correction: Management moved children and staff around to ensure the appropriate ratios were maintained.
